Biography

Armin Taghipour was born in 1981 in Rasht/Iran. He studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Guilan (B.Sc., Major Microelectronics) in Iran, and at the University of Hanover (M.Sc., Major Telecommunications - Signal Processing) in Germany.

From February 2010 to June 2011 he worked at the Hearing Center of the Hanover Medical School on audio signal processing for cochlear implant devices.

Armin worked as a research assistant toward a Doctor of Engineering degree at the AudioLabs from July 2011 to April 2016. He submitted his doctoral thesis on "Psychoacoustics of detection of tonality and asymmetry of masking: implementation of tonality estimation methods in a psychoacoustic model for perceptual audio coding" in January 2016 and passed the doctoral viva in April 2016.

Since May 2016 Armin has been working for the Fraunhofer IIS - AudioLabs as a post-doctoral research fellow. Furthermore, Armin studies Psychology at the Distance University of Hagen.
