Among the known deficiencies of x-vector-based anonymization systems is the insufficient disentangling of the input features. In particular, the fundamental frequency (F0) trajectories, which are used for voice synthesis without any modifications. Especially in cross-gender conversion, this situation causes unnatural sounding voices, increases word error rates (WERs), and personal information leakage. Our submission overcomes this problem by synthesizing an F0 trajectory, which better harmonizes with the anonymized x-vector. We utilized a low-complexity deep neural network to estimate an appropriate F0 value per frame, using the linguistic content from the bottleneck features (BN) and the anonymized x-vector. Our approach results in a significantly improved anonymization system and increased naturalness of the synthesized voice. Consequently, our results suggest that F0 extraction is not required for voice anonymization.}, urldate = {2022-11-02}, publisher = {arXiv}, author = {Gaznepoglu, Ünal Ege and Leschanowsky, Anna and Peters, Nils}, month = oct, year = {2022}, keywords = {Computer Science - Cryptography and Security, Computer Science - Sound, Electrical Engineering and Systems Science - Audio and Speech Processing}, } @inproceedings{leschanowsky2022adapting, title={Adapting Debiasing Strategies for Conversational AI}, author={Leschanowsky, Anna and Popp, Birgit and Peters, Nils}, booktitle={GoodBrother International Conference on Privacy-friendly and Trustworthy Technology for Society}, pages={74}, year={2022} } @article{article, author = {Popp, Birgit and Lalone, Philip and Leschanowsky, Anna}, year = {2022}, month = {06}, pages = {}, title = {Chatbot Language - crowdsource perceptions and reactions to dialogue systems to inform dialogue design decisions}, journal = {Behavior Research Methods}, doi = {10.3758/s13428-022-01864-x} } @inproceedings{inproceedings, author = {Leschanowsky, Anna and Brüggemeier, Birgit and Peters, Nils}, year = {2021}, month = {11}, pages = {}, title = {Design Implications for Human-Machine Interactions from a Qualitative Pilot Study on Privacy}, doi = {10.21437/SPSC.2021-16}, booktitle={Proc. 2021 ISCA Symposium on Security and Privacy in Speech Communication} } @inproceedings{inproceedings, author = {Leschanowsky, Anna and Das, Sneha and Bäckström, Tom and Pérez Zarazaga, Pablo}, year = {2020}, month = {11}, pages = {}, booktitle={Proc.
